Ep. 1 Architecture

Bitcoin Hyper's three-layer architecture

The first episode of the Bitcoin Hyper series. Michele Stefanelli sets out the proposed core architecture: the Bitcoin layer (settlement), the Hyper rollup layer (SVM execution) and the application layer. How the three layers are intended to fit together, and the reasoning behind this architectural choice.

Show notes
  • • Introducing the concept of a rollup (0:00–8:00)
  • • The settlement layer: Bitcoin as the base (8:00–18:00)
  • • The execution layer: the SVM and Sealevel (18:00–32:00)
  • • The application layer: what can be built (32:00–42:00)
  • • Q&A and upcoming episodes (42:00–45:00)

Ep. 2 Architecture

The SVM and the developer experience: assessing proposed Solana compatibility

The second episode examines the Solana Virtual Machine as a proposed execution environment, what 'drop-in compatible' would mean in practice, and how a Solana developer might assess Bitcoin Hyper on devnet.

Show notes
  • • Why the SVM rather than the EVM (0:00–10:00)
  • • The SVM account model: how it differs from Ethereum (10:00–22:00)
  • • The Anchor framework: tooling and workflow (22:00–32:00)
  • • What is compatible, and what is not (32:00–38:00)

Ep. 3 Due diligence

Bitcoin Hyper due diligence: key questions to ask

The planned third episode is devoted to due diligence. It will examine the 47 questions set out in Appendix E of the book, focusing on the project's current evidence gaps — the absence of publicly available protocol- and bridge-level audit reports, open data-availability questions and sequencer centralisation — and on a measured approach to risk assessment.

Show notes
  • • An introduction to due diligence (0:00–5:00)
  • • Questions about the team and the technology (5:00–20:00)
  • • The project's current evidence gaps (20:00–35:00)
  • • Tokenomics and vesting: the awkward questions (35:00–45:00)
  • • How to think about position sizing and capacity for loss (45:00–52:00)
